The founders of BugOutCostaRica, Scott and Stephanie McKenzie have traveled to and lived in some of the world’s most remote areas throughout S.E.Asia and Central America.

Living and learning from indigenous peoples as well as transplanted foreigners, all living 100% self reliant, sustainable lives.

With this background we are able to identify the attributes that make for the best BugOut locations available, and how to best work with the BugOut sight to maximize the strengths and minimize the challenges.
